Dental Admission Circular 2024 for BDS Course

Admissions are done in Bangladesh Government and Private Dental Colleges and Dental Units respectively. In continuation of this, the activities of dental admission 2023-24 have started. BDS Admission 2024 will be completed this year also under the supervision of the Directorate General of Medical Education. Students will be admitted to all government and private dental colleges and dental units of medical colleges through a central admission test. The admission process will be done through the dgme.teletalk.com.bd website. Through this website, one can apply for dental admission, download the admit card, and know the results. Also, all the information related to admission can be obtained from the official website dgme.gov.bd of the Directorate General of Medical Education.

Dental Admission Circular 2024

Bangladesh Directorate General of Medical Education has released the Dental Admission Circular 2024 for the BDS course. Through this, student admission will be completed in all dental colleges and units.

As per BDS Admission Circular 2024 Online Admission Application will start on 15th January 2024. The admission application can be made till 3 February 2024. The application fee can be paid till 5th February 2024.

The BDS admission test for the academic year 2023-24 will be held on March 8, 2024. Applicants can download admit cards from 25 February to 27 February 2024.

Dental Admission Test Date

The BDS Admission Test 2024 will be held on 8th March 2024, Friday for admission in Government and Private Dental Colleges and Units. This exam will start at 10 am. The exam will end at 11 am. This admission test will be held in different centers of the country.

Application Eligibility

Bangladeshi and foreign students can apply for admission to the BDS course. But their qualifications are different. Bangladeshi citizens have to participate in the admission test. Bangladeshi citizens must have the following qualifications to participate in the Dental Admission Test 2023-2024.

  • Applicants must have passed the HSC/ ‘A’ level/ equivalent examination in 2023 or 2022.
  • Applicant must have passed the SSC/ ‘O’ Level/ Equivalent Examination in 2021 or 2020.
  • Aggregate GPA should be at least 9.00 in both SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent examinations. But in the case of tribal candidates, the minimum aggregate GPA should be 8.00. However, a GPA of less than 3.50 in any examination will not be acceptable.
  • All applicants must have a minimum grade point of 4.0 in Biology in the HSC/equivalent examination.

BDS Admission Application 2024

Applications for admission to government and private dental colleges can be made from 15 January to 3 February 2024. Online application forms can be filled out through the dgme.teletalk.com.bd website. Detailed instructions regarding filling out the admission form can be found on the website dgme.gov.bd apart from the admission website. Follow the instructions below to fill out the admission form.

  • Visit the dgme.teletalk.com.bd website.
  • Click on the BDS Admission link.
  • Select SSC/Equivalent & HSC/Equivalent or O-Level/A-Level.
  • If there is a quota, select the assigned quota.
  • In the next step fill out the application form with the required information.
  • Provide college preference and upload photo and signature.
  • Submit the application form.

On successful submission of the application, an applicant’s copy will be displayed with the applicant’s details and a user ID. Download, print, and save the applicant’s copy.

Payment Instructions

Applicants who apply successfully must pay the application fee within 72 hours. Application fee Tk. 1000 to be paid through teletalk. If the application fee is not paid, the application will be considered canceled. The application fee is to be paid as per the instructions on the applicant’s copy. At the time of payment of the application fee, the candidate should mention the center code of the center in which he/she intends to take the admission test. Application fee payment instructions are as follows.

1st SMS: BDS <space> user ID and message to 16222.

After Sending the first message you will receive a return message with the applicant’s information, application fee, and a PIN. If the information is correct then a second message should be sent agreeing to this PIN.

2nd Message: BDS <space> Yes <space> PIN <space> center codes with a comma (Maximum four) and send the message to 16222.

After sending the second message, a confirmation message will be sent indicating that the application was successful. The confirmation message will contain the applicant’s user ID and password.

Admit Card Download

BDS Admit Card 2024 can be downloaded from 25 February 2024. The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) will inform the applicants about downloading the admit card through SMS. Candidates can download the dental admit card 2024 by logging in with their user ID and password. Admit cards can be downloaded till 27 February 2024. If the admit card is lost, the same can be re-downloaded within the prescribed time limit. No candidate can participate in the admission test without an admit card. Dental admit card 2024 should be taken along with the student’s HSC/equivalent exam admit card/registration card.

The admit card will mention the exam Date, center name, venue, and detailed seat arrangement. Candidates have to appear in the admission test in the prescribed seat at the prescribed center.

Admission Test Mark Distribution

In the academic year 2023-24, the dental admission test for the BDS course will be held as per the HSC Examination 2023 syllabus. Admission tests will be conducted on the MCQ system.

A total of 100 questions will carry 100 marks. The duration of the admission test will be 1 hour. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The subject-wise mark distribution of the BDS admission test is as follows.

  • Biology – 30
  • Chemistry- 25
  • Physics-20
  • English-15
  • General Knowledge (History and Liberation War of Bangladesh)-10

Admission Test Result

Dental Admission Test Result will be published online and through SMS. Successful candidates will be notified through SMS. Also, the result can be known from the website of the DGME website.

Candidates scoring less than 40 marks in the admission test will be considered as failed. The result will be published along with the merit list of the eligible candidates. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the admission test, SSC/equivalent, and HSC/equivalent examination results.

Those candidates appearing in the admission test for the second time will have 5 marks deducted from their total marks. For candidates who are already admitted to any government medical or dental college, 10 marks will be deducted from the total marks obtained by the candidates.

Admission to private dental colleges will start after admission to government dental colleges. Admission to both government and private dental colleges will be done according to the published results.
